  1. What are your hours?

Day care is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

  2. What ages do you care for?

I am licensed for ages 6 weeks - 12 years.

  3. How many children do you care for?

I am licensed for up to 8 children depending on their ages. The more younger children, under 2, the less children I can care for at at time. I try to take only one infant/child under 2 years at a time.

Our Household

  1. How is your husband involved in the child care?

Mostly he provides behind the scenes support, running errands & doing mantainence. Occassionally he provides back up care, usually for an hour or less at the close of the day if I need to leave early for an appointment. Usually he is at work during all day care hours.

  2. Do you have pets?

We have one cat, a Ragdoll, named Stormy. He is very affectionate and entertaining. He sometimes allows the kids to play vet with him.

Registration

  1. What is the registration process?

    1. Call or email to check availability.
    2. Ask any questions over the phone or via email.
    3. Arrange a time to interview with the provider, tour the center, and determine if child care is a good fit for your child.
    4. 2 weeks deposit is required to hold a spot. This deposit will be applied to the last two weeks of care or forfieted if the paid and the child does not come to child care afterall.
    5. Short visits are recommended at first, especially if your child is not used to child care or separating from parents. Schedule a time to stay with your child for an hour. The next visit should be longer with the parent leaving during this time. We can determine together how the transition is going and if any additional visits would be recommended before leaving the child in care. Hourly fees are required for visits when the parent isn't present.

Transportation & Busing

  1. Do you transport?

No I do not. Due to strict licensing and insurance requirements, I have chosen not to transport. In reality, our days are very full and I would have a hard time transporting children to & from school. Also, I feel parents do not want their children out and about. It reduces risk for all involved.

  2. Do buses stop at your location?

We live between Janesville and Milton school districts but the day care location is within the Milton school district. Busing may be available to Milton schools through the "Buy a Seat Program". The buses do not stop right at our door.  Children must walk to a bus stop, one block over.

For information on eligibility or to register for school bus service in the Milton School District, contact Riteway Bus Company, (608) 868-4705.

The Janesville School District provides or subsidizes "yellow school bus service" to students living in areas not served by JTS, and the rural areas of the Janesville School District. For information on eligibility or to register for school bus service, please contact the Transportation Director at the School District office, (608) 743-5016.

For school bus route information or questions on school bus operations in the Janesville School District, contact the Van Galder Bus Company, (608) 752-5407.
